Social deduction / bluffing / party game

SAME

Same question. One fake answer.

Everyone answers the same question. Almost everyone has to tell the truth. One person has to completely make it up.

Then everyone interrogates each other and tries to find the liar.

How it works

PLAYABLE RULES / STILL REFINING

Find the FAKE. If the vote ties, the liar survives.

  1. 1

    Build

Reveal one Setup, one Subject and one Twist to create the round’s prompt.

  2. 2

    Answer

SAME players answer truthfully. The FAKE invents a believable answer. Everyone follows the Twist.

  3. 3

    Grill

Each player asks one follow-up question. Keep defending your answer. No outside evidence.

  4. 4

    Vote

Count down and point simultaneously. A clear most-votes result catches the FAKE; a tie lets the FAKE survive.

SAME has the most developed playable rules in the line. The current prototype uses separate Setup, Subject and Twist decks; wording, curated combinations and the optional gavel are still being tested.

What makes it fun

The questions keep changing. The people definitely do.

Truth sounds fake

Completely true stories become suspicious the moment everyone starts asking questions.

No receipts

No phones, photos, texts, Google or outside evidence. Your only defense is convincing the table.

The questions keep changing

Setup + Subject + Twist creates thousands of theoretical prompt combinations before the people answer.

Fast reset

Choose another round, deal another FAKE and become briefly suspicious of everyone again.

Current prompt system

Build one question. Then make it suspicious.

THE LAST TIME YOU… + …ATE SOMETHING WEIRD. + THREE WORDS.
AS A KID, YOU… + …GOT AWAY WITH SOMETHING. + DETAILS, PLEASE.
KEEP IT SHORT. Answer in one sentence.
WHEN? Include an approximate year or age.
NAME NAMES. Include another person in your story.
NO THINKING. Answer immediately.

Everything earns its spot.

  • 24 Setup cards
  • 24 Subject cards
  • 12 Twist cards
  • 8 Role cards — 7 SAME + 1 FAKE

YES, YOU’RE ALLOWED TO LIE.

One of you actually has to.

Everyone else is telling the truth, which somehow does not make them sound any more believable.

A player holding cards during SAME

Small box. Actual game.

Catch the liar.
